Electrician Apprentice

Job Description

This role is responsible for coordinating and executing work orders, including repairs, troubleshooting and performing maintenance on all electrical systems in addition to monitoring and testing electrical systems as needed. 

Level/Salary Range: Compensation based on skill level.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, troubleshoot, repair, inspect and install electrical circuits, systems, and components according to state and local building codes, including but not limited to, power upgrades, lighting, signaling, motors, controls, automation, fire, and security.
  • Recommend repair needs to potentially eliminate ongoing and future repairs
  • Coordinate and execute preventive maintenance inspections and repairs as needed
  • Respond to electrical calls such as power outage and failures. Evaluate situation and take proper corrective action.
  • Communicate effectively with field staff, supervisors, homeowners, contractors, and city inspector offices.
  • Ensure estimates are set up accurately for the full process and complete phases of work needed
  • Completing needed processes in a timely and professional manner
  • Attend and participate in employee meetings/trainings
  • Continue to develop current skills and those of your team (apprentices/journeymen)
  • Other duties as needed or assigned by Service Manager

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Ability to perform math computations
  • Valid MN Master Electrical License
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical codes
  • Ability to build rapport with field staff, job supervisors, builders, suppliers, and homeowners.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office—Excel, Word, Outlook, File Maker & Service Titan is a plus
  • Must be deadline, goal and detail-oriented
  • Good organization skills, with ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Positive and professional demeanor
  • Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    This position requires interaction with people in an office environment and in homes/work sites/businesses. Work requires sitting, standing, crouching, working overhead, reaching, handling/grasping, and repetitive motions for long periods of time. Must occasionally be able to lift 25 lbs.  This role is exposed to outside weather conditions, chemicals, risk of electrical shock, vibrations, and loud noises.      Required to drive and operate a company vehicle, hand tools, and electrical tools.  Communication is required to perform this job.
